AHVAP Launches New Position Statement on the Need for Improvements with Instructions for Use

I am excited to share with you an exciting new Position Statement that is now available for both AHVAP members and the general public:

The Critical Need for Improved Instructions for Use for Medical Devices in Healthcare. This newly developed and released document was designed to help define and shepherd best practices for improving Instructions for Use (IFU) for Medical Devices. We recognize these IFUs are critically important to safe use of medical devices, and continuous quality improvement is necessary to advance patient and healthcare provider safety.

I would like to thank the efforts of our contributors from the AHVAP Education and Clinical Practice Committee to this position statement. This highly skilled group of experts from across our membership has rigorously worked on the creation and editing of this document over the last two months. This is a Position Statement that all AHVAP members and healthcare value analysis professionals should be proud of!
