Not a “meet and greet” icebreaker, but “those who pave the way for others”, i.e. forerunners.
More and more AHVAP Regular members are reporting that CVAHP certification is either encouraged or required for those employed in Value Analysis roles at healthcare organizations and for services that provide value analysis resources. There are currently more than 70 certified regular members, but so far, no certified affiliate members.
Regular and Affiliate Members Collaborate for Success
CVAHP certification is a validation of the knowledge and skill necessary to successfully employ the discipline of value analysis. Affiliate members, many of whom are experienced supplier representatives, have been providing invaluable information and support to their accounts for many years. Supply Chain and Value Analysis leaders rely on suppliers to provide evidence-based, peer-reviewed studies that support the efficacy of their products. They trust their supplier representatives to provide the most current information available, research root causes for reported issues, and provide guidance and assistance in the event of a recall or supply disruption. This professional relationship is all part of the value analysis process applied to achieve desired patient outcomes at the best value.
CVAHP Certification Requirements
The CVAHP Certification requirements are the same for both Regular and Affiliate members, in fact for ANYONE that participates in and/or supports the value analysis process, whether or not an AHVAP member:
**Cumulative experience is defined as the total length of time employed with responsibility for value analysis activities. The experience does not have to be consecutive or with a single employer.
Still have questions?
If you have additional questions about the requirements or exam procedures, submit them to info@ahvap.org. Be sure to include “CVAHP Certification” in the subject line.
Be an icebreaker, pave the way for your professional peers, and proclaim your commitment to the profession and the process. You’ll be glad you did!
