Over the past 90 days, AHVAP leaders have been quite busy evaluating the CVAHP Certification Program and determining how to take the certification to the next level. These activities include:
Extensive Discussions with Certificants
Review of Current Policies and Procedures
Internal Audit of Certification Program using NCCA Standards for Accredited Certification
Formal Gap Analysis
One of the most important things in any great certification program is PEOPLE! The CVAHP certification has a lot to be thankful for, especially the dedication of one of our very own member, Beth Potter. Beth has been a true luminary is championing the certification in even the most resource-limited environment. The AHVAP Certification Center is pleased to announce the new Beth Potter Scholarship which will officially launch in March. This scholarship will fund two certification scholarships each year for the next five years for first-time certification candidates. There will be a formal application process and scholarships cannot be used for retests. The formal application process will launch the first week of March, so stay tuned to your email for more information on this exciting opportunity.
To ensure that there is a clear separation of the AHVAP membership association and the responsibilities of the new AHVAP Certification Center, the following chart has been prepared as part of our new organizational processes:
AHVAP Association Responsibilities | AHVAP Certification Center Responsibilities |
Governance: AHVAP Board of Directors | Governance: AHVAP Certification Center Board of Directors |
Educational Webinars | CVAHP™ Certification Development, Job Analysis, Psychometrics Testing Processes and Exam Maintenance |
Membership Operations | Maintenance of Certification |
AHVAP Annual Conference | VIP Continuing Education Concierge Service |
CVAHP Review and Prep Course | Educational Certificate Program |
The new AHVAP Certification Center Board of Directors will be appointed in March after the Call for Nominations concludes. The inaugural Board of Directors will be led by Karen Niven as Chair and Toni Young as Chair-Elect. The Certification Board is seeking a Secretary, a Public Member, and two Directors at Large for the newly formed Board.
