AHVAP Announces Recipient of Niven Scholarship for Academic Advancement

The Association of Healthcare Value Analysis Professionals, Inc. (AHVAP) is pleased to announce our first student member and inaugural recipient of the Niven Scholarship for Academic Advancement: Aaron Miller, MHI, MSc from the University of Toronto. Aaron has been embedded with a healthcare value analysis team since the beginning of the pandemic as part of his doctoral studies. 

In Aaron's application, he stated: 

"Through an extensive systematic review process as well as semi-structured interviews with over a dozen value analysis professionals in Canada and the United States, I've been able to ascertain the wide range of value analysis processes, differences, and commonalities in practice. The feedback I have received through these discussions has been invaluable and strongly suggests there are excellent opportunities to improve upon current practices and to always be mindful to maintain a continuous quality improvement lens when carrying out all of our value analysis activities. This scholarship will expose me to a broad and highly skilled and experienced body of VA professionals which will enrich both my personal and professional goals, and will unquestionably bolster my PhD studies and the conclusions I am able to make in regards to opportunities for, and further investment in, value analysis research."
