Did You Know There was a War for Talent?

Executive Director, Inc. (EDI) recently hosted a webinar for AMC Institute members discussing the issues surrounding finding and keeping great Association talent. The webinar was an excellent primer for those will be attending the "War for Talent" session on Friday, February 20th at the Annual Meeting in Miami, Florida.
The webinar highlighted some of the new realities of the current workforce including:
- Four million Boomers retired in 2014
- Boomers will no longer be the majority of the workforce in 2015
- Total workforce growth is slowing and competition for talent is intensifying
- Millennials don’t know what associations are or the career opportunities available in association management
- Nine out of ten new hires did not know what an association was before applying for a job at one AMC
