AMCI Community Engagement Committee

We started by offering first timers and new members an "Ambassador" to help them navigate the Annual Meeting. This resulted in many new relationships forming, which of course, engages the first timers right away, giving them someone to connect with not only at the meeting, but leads to an ongoing relationship.

We met these new members and first timers at this year’s First Timer’s Reception. This year’s reception was the largest yet, hosting about 100 people, including more than 40 new members and first timers, as well as Board and Committee leadership. The food and drink was great, and we all enjoyed seeing the board’s dance moves!

One of the first charges that the Community Engagement Committee will be taking on is engaging the members on a particular topic each month. This topic will be featured in the monthly Member Matters, as well as on the LinkedIn page. We will be actively utilizing the LinkedIn page to create ongoing discussions. When you see these discussions pop up, please DO comment and "get engaged." There is such a wealth of knowledge in our membership. Sharing that knowledge with each other on this platform is a bonus for all.

Finally, the Committee will be working on some templates for holding regional, online and local meetings throughout the country. Our goal is to roll these out by the end of the year and engage the members even more in different parts of the AMCI nation. If you might be interested in hosting, please let me know. Much more to come on this, but I wanted to get you all excited about the possibility of meeting in between our main meetings.

All in all, it was a productive, great meeting in Anaheim. I hope you got to enjoy Disneyland – the place that you can always be a kid.

Working towards an engaged AMCI community!
