USP Circulates 2023 Annual Member Fee to Members
Buried energy and utility owners that have registered the location of their underground infrastructure with Utility Safety Partners are currently receiving correspondence informing them of their 2023 Annual Member Fees (AMF) which will be payable beginning January 2023.
The AMF, introduced last year, replaces the Notification Fee revenue structure Alberta One-Call Corporation (now operating as Utility Safety Partners) had maintained for many years. The AMF provides a stable revenue stream ensuring budgeted expenses are covered for the year and equally provides our members with cost certainty.
The AMF is based on a risk & consequence matrix researched and created by Det Norske Veritas (DNV). The matrix, combined with historical notification fee data, allowed USP to create a risk score relative to the member categories of its 850 members - some with multiple facility types (example: municipalities), resulting in 1,083 individual member facilities.
The AMF has no impact whatsoever for anyone submitting a locate request. That service is free to you – the contractor or homeowner. You will continue to be provided with the same reliable service we’ve delivered for 39 years.
For our members, you will know precisely what your annual fee will be; and, you can choose to pay quarterly in four equal payments or in one lump sum. And, if you pay your entire invoice before February 28, 2023, you will receive a 2% rebate.
If you have a question about your AMF, please email us at Billing@UtilitySafety.ca and put "AMF Inquiry” in the subject line.
