Utility Safety Partners’ 1st Unified Safety Conference
On March 28 and 29, 225 people from across Alberta attended Utility Safety Partners' first Unified Safety Conference in the City of Red Deer! A sincere thank you to Utility Safety Partners' Education & Awareness Committee for its hard work to bring the first conference under the USP banner to life. It was wonderful to see our own Kassi Zaba recognized for her hard work and leadership bringing the conference together when she was made an honorary Keeper of the Grey Cup by Mr. Jeff McWhinney — the Official Keeper of the Cup!
The event opened with an official welcome from Red Deer city councillor, Lawrence Lee, and a land acknowledgement and blessing from Elder George Saddleback and his wife, Celina.
We wish to again thank our generous sponsors, Ste. Anne Natural Gas Co-operative Ltd., Concentric Public Affairs, Astec Safety Inc., the Federation of Alberta Gas Co-ops Ltd., Apex Utilities Inc., Canadian Locators Inc, OEC, Plains Midstream Canada, TC Energy and the many exhibitors. Without your ongoing support and meaningful engagement, hosting events like this would be an even greater challenge!
We also wish to thank keynote speaker Chad Kennedy and Jeff McWhinney with the Canadian Football Hall of Fame and Keeper of the Cup for his ongoing relationship with USP promoting the benefits of teamwork and public, worker and community safety.
But most of all, a sincere thank you to our guests who attended the event!
