The CCGA Welcomes New Executive Director—G. Todd Scott, B.Sc., CET

Canadian Common Ground Alliance

Todd brings 30 years of diverse field and leadership experience across the public utility, natural gas distribution, and environmental/geotechnical consulting sectors to his new role as executive director of the Canadian Common Ground Alliance (CCGA). Based in Riverview, New Brunswick, Todd's career is founded with strong operational roots and marked by his dedication to operational safety, process improvement, and risk management having led numerous high-impact initiatives focused on enhancing safety programs, regulatory compliance, and environmental protection.

Most recently, as director of operational effectiveness at Algonquin Power & Utilities, Todd's responsibilities included harmonization of operational processes and procedures, centralization of technical training efforts, and improving quality of services within each of their regulated natural gas, electric, and water/wastewater business lines modalities across North America. Todd's experience is complemented by his 20-plus year tenure at Enbridge Gas New Brunswick where he served in progressively responsible leadership roles, starting as a regional operational supervisor (and locator), progressing to construction and maintenance manager to manager, safety and operational reliability.

Todd has long been a passionate advocate for damage prevention and public safety in infrastructure protection. He was a driving force in the creation of the Atlantic Common Ground Alliance (ATLCGA), serving as a founding member and inaugural chair. Todd also contributed to many national initiatives as an active member and past chair of the CCGA board of directors.

In his free time, Todd is an avid outdoors man who enjoys spending time with Alison, his wife of 32 years, and their daughters Katelyn and Carmen, downhill skiing, trips on his ATV, and summers at the cottage.

Through his strategic leadership and commitment to continuous improvement, Todd looks forward to furthering CCGA's mission of improving public safety and protecting infrastructure across Canada.
