A new study found significantly higher Medicare reimbursements for hospital-affiliated physicians compared to physicians in independent practices from 2010 to 2016.

According to the Department of Health and Human Services' Office for Civil Rights, private physician practices are second only to hospitals in the number of violations of HIPAA privacy regulations.
