 On July 2, 1776, patriotism led to the Continental Congress's decision to vote in favor of independence from Great Britain. Two days later, on July 4, 1776, the Declaration of Independence was adopted — the actual commemoration date for our Independence Day.
We sometimes forget the historical details that make this day special, but knowing our history can help build and expand our patriotism.
