EDUCATION AND EVENTS
As part of the new PHTA Certified Pool Builder and Design Professional Pathway, several GENESIS® courses are now core courses required to become certified. E245: Standards, Codes, and Ordinances: A Builder's Guide to Proper Implementation is one of the core courses for Certified Expert Pool Builder & Design Professional. This course will differentiate between codes, standards, and ordinances; examine what these documents require of all parties affected by them; and conclude with providing background and intent on the provisions within these documents. E245 begins September 20 at 6pm ET. Register today!
Please join us on Wednesday, September 15 at 1pm ET for an overview of the new PHTA Certified Pool Builder and Design Professional Pathway. This webinar will provide an explanation of the new pathway and certifications, from CBP to Certified Master Pool Builder and Design Professional. If you are a GENESIS® Associate, SWD Registered, or SWD Master, you will also learn how these certifications affect your current designation.
Join instructor Terry Brannon, P.E., on November 14-15 at PSP/Deck Expo for E211: Fluid Hydraulics for Pools and Spas. In this course, you will develop a basic understanding of the hydraulic principles in order to design more efficient and serviceable hydraulic systems, learn how to perform the complete analysis of a basic pool/spa combination with a water feature, and much more. This class is a core course required for advancing through the PHTA Certified Pool Builder and Design Professional Pathway.

STANDARDS AND CODES
The American National Standards Institute (ANSI) approved the ANSI/PHTA/ICC-10 2021 American National Standard for Elevated Pools, Spas and Other Aquatic Venues Integrated into a Building or Structure. The PHTA-10 Standard is now in the production phase. We will announce when the electronic version is complete and available for purchase on the PHTA website. The PHTA Technical Committee met on August 31 to discuss PHTA Standards, receive an update on external standards, and provide feedback to PHTA staff for the upcoming ICC Public Comment Hearings.
