The PHTA International Awards of Excellence program recognizes and rewards installations of pools, spas, hot tubs, and water features that showcase the most beautiful and creative work in the industry. Hundreds of entries are submitted each year, representing member firms across the United States and around the world. This event is open to PHTA members only. The 2022 entry period is now open! Submit your entries by July 1.
We're now accepting applications to join the PHTA Education Committee! Share your passion for the industry and the importance of continuing education. We're looking for people of all industry backgrounds, from retailers and operators to builders and distributors. As part of this committee, you will help develop resources, create pathways for learning, and increase the number of skilled professionals in our industry. Applications are due March 18!

Only interested in C201 and the CBP? No problem! You can register for this course individually and take the CBP exam. Save even more money by taking the exam onsite on March 31—we'll waive the exam fee for you.

Already have the CBP and want to move up to Advanced? Register for E211 only and take the Advanced CBP exam online at a later date of your choosing.

In D280: The History of Pools and Water Features, you will gain a deeper understanding of the history of water features, review historic water features and vessels, identify global water features, discuss contemporary features, and examine how history incorporates into the design and development of a student’s creation today.

D280 is being offered as part of the Master Pools Guild Meeting. Class starts March 14 in Charleston, SC.
  
The California Pool & Spa Association (CPSA) is hosting the Under the Sea Golf Tournament as part of the Western Pool & Spa Show. Proceeds benefit CPSA’s grassroots advocacy efforts and the CPSA Industry Defense Fund. Sign up your company or chapter for a foursome or sponsorship. There will be a buffet lunch prior to the start of the tournament, as well as prize contests at select holes. Get there early to practice on the driving range!

STANDARDS AND CODES

PHTA Codes staff is assisting a PHTA member in Ohio with inspection issues relating to National Electrical Code requirements.

PHTA Codes staff provided information to local regulators in Colorado regarding ISPSC adoption.

PHTA Codes staff will participate in the ICC A117.1 Standard committee meeting on Thursday, February 25. This standard addresses accessibility issues.

Registration for the 13th Annual World’s Largest Swimming Lesson is officially open. Aquatic facilities of all types can sign up to be a drowning prevention champion in their community by joining TEAM WLSL as an official Host for this impactful and fun lifesaving event. The 30-minute swim lesson can take place any time of day during the 24-hour event on Thursday, June 23. Locations with regular lessons taking place are encouraged to host throughout the day.

With 20 years of experience in the hot tub industry, Steve Ruscigno has joined the Evosus executive team as CRO. "This is part of our plan to integrate 'a day in the life' of pool and hot tub professionals in all that we do," said Dan McManus, Evosus CEO.

Steve's last position was General Manager of Oregon Hot Tub, where he oversaw daily operations and led their team to strong growth. In his new position, Steve leads all key areas of growth for LOU cloud business software – spanning Marketing, Sales, Onboarding, and Client Success.
