Message From the Chair – Sumeet Sodhi

Happy 2024!  As we start the new year off and recalibrate our professional and personal goals, it is always a great time to reflect on the past year of success we have had.  BCEA continues to be an integral part of the Electrical Distribution and Manufacturing industry in British Columbia. 2023 saw many challenges as we grew out of the pandemic mindset and back into a “shaking hands” vs. “elbow bumping” society. We had many successful events including our regional golf tournaments, AMP events, Women’s Network events, fundraisers and our annual Holiday Luncheon.  Each one of these events gives the members of BCEA an opportunity to connect with likeminded individuals and organizations to share education and industry updates.

The opportunity to chair for the BCEA has been exciting, challenging and educating.  My goals for the 2024 term will continue to focus on how we provide value as an organization to our members. Our members and people are our strongest assets. We all have knowledge to give and to gain. To continue building this asset with the BCEA and electrical industry, we need the input of many individuals with all levels of experience and different roles. I challenge our members to bring in new individuals and groups to BCEA events so they can learn and build the industry for future leaders.

I also have the pleasure to be the chair of the BCEA as we celebrate our 100-year anniversary.  One hundred years of achievement, excellence and community. I look forward to celebrating with you all at our 100-year gala. Let's build and work through a challenging, exciting, and overall rewarding 2024!
