100 Year Gala Recap
Thank you so much to everyone who came out to our 100yr Gala on Feb. 23rd at the Delta Hotel in Burnaby! It was a great night filled with music, dancing, and reminiscing. Here's to 100 more years of BCEA! International Women's Day – Happy Hour
Join the BCEA Women's Network on Friday, March 8 at Sammy J's in Maple Ridge for happy hour (3:00 to 5:00 p.m.) to celebrate International Women's Day with some drinks, appetizers, and chats. There is no cost to attend beyond whatever you want to spend at the restaurant for drinks and food. Please register so we can know how many people will be attending.
Decarbonization Webinar with EFC
Join Carol McGlogan, President and CEO of Electro-Federation Canada, for a presentation on Decarbonizing Canada via Electrification on March 13 at 12:00 p.m. EFC commissioned a white paper by the Pembina Group to examine the opportunities and challenges related to achieving GHG (greenhouse gas) reduction targets. Electrification is at the center of this transformation and Carol McGlogan will reflect on the research completed by Pembina and the resulting EFC policy recommendations to Canadian government stakeholders. This presentation will be delivered virtually via Zoom. Tickets are $20+GST each.
AMP "Beer" Pong Tournament
On Friday, March 22, join the AMP Network for its famous Beer Pong Tournament! Friendly reminder that this is not your traditional game—we put water in the cups. We encourage everyone to know your limits and to ensure you have a safe drive to and from the event. Compete in teams of two to win this round robin style tournament. There is also a team costume contest and best team name prize! Tickets are $25+GST each or $50 for a team of two. Registration opens at 5:30 p.m., and the games will begin at 6:30 p.m.
Island Trade Shows – Victoria and Nanaimo
The BC Electrical Association in conjunction with the Victoria distributors and manufacturers committee on the Island will be holding two Island shows this April: • Tuesday, April 16 at the Nanaimo Vancouver Island Convention Centre • Thursday, April 18 at the Westin Bear Mountain Resort & Spa The Island shows have been very popular the last few years, and we are happy to extend them to the Nanaimo area. During our member forums, manufacturers and manufacturer agents felt it was time to bring Island shows back. An opening seminar is being organized to ensure a good kick off to the show. This show will also double as a career fair for the local community. Don't miss your opportunity to meet future employees! Details and table registrations can be found on our website. Registration for our online Basic Electricity Course is now live. This course is a great primer for anyone new to the industry or who wants a refresher on the more basic aspects of the supply chain industry.
