It is with deep sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Owen Stevens on November 27, 2024. He is survived by his beloved wife, Evangeline, and their three children—two sons and a daughter. Recently retired, Owen had joyfully embraced his next great adventure: spending cherished moments as a devoted grandfather and babysitter to his grandchildren, whom he adored. He will be deeply missed and never forgotten.
Owen dedicated his entire career to the education and advancement of lighting, both through his professional work and tireless volunteer efforts. His lifelong involvement with the Illuminating Engineering Society of North America (IES) stands as a testament to his unwavering commitment and passion. Over more than 30 years of active service, Owen made exceptional contributions to the Society, particularly to the Vancouver section, and left an indelible mark on the field of lighting education.
If you would like to pay your respects, Owen's Service/Celebration of Life will be held on January 18, 2025 (Saturday) at 1:00pm, at Parkland Fellowship Baptist Church, 9574 160 St. Surrey.
