SPEC Repair Cafe Vancouver - Volunteers Needed
SPEC (the Society Promoting Environmental Conservation) is an environmental charity that has inspired practical solutions for sustainability all over Canada, since their founding in 1969. Their Repair Cafe brings together local repair volunteers with a knack for repairing who are willing to lend their knowledge and show participants how to carry out repairs. By promoting repair over disposal, Repair Cafes contribute to waste reduction and resource conservation, aligning with the principles of a circular economy. They are seeking repair volunteers in the following areas: Clothing/Textiles (sewers) Computers & Tech support Electronics Small Appliances The next 5 repair cafes all run from 9:30 to 1:30 and SPEC provides lunch to all the volunteers. Feb 15 - Hastings Community Centre Mar 23 - Trout Lake Community Centre Apr 12 - Dunbar Community Centre Apr 26 - Strathcona Community Centre May 17 - Killarney Community Centre Join SPEC in making a positive impact by keeping items out of the landfill and building a more sustainable community!
