PERSONAL SUCCESS FOR PROJECT MANAGERS
JANUARY 30, 2015, 7:30 - 10:30 A.M.
Project Managers have become increasingly taxed with the responsibilities of today’s construction projects. The amount of paperwork and necessary coordination make it difficult for anyone to get things done today. Long hours and constant connection make it difficult to find a life balance. We are often vibrating between problems. While technology seems to have aided our industry, why does it seem we continue to work long hours? This presentation will focus on simple blocking and tackling techniques for project managers to help them prioritize and manage the two most important resources – time and money. We will work on individual techniques that will translate into project management techniques for the projects.
Target Audience – Front line project managers & project engineers with 0-10 years of project management experience.
TOP 10 "RISKY" ITEMS EVERY PM OR SUPERINTENDENT SHOULD KNOW
MARCH 6, 2015, 7:30 - 10:30 A.M.
Project Managers are often buried in the everyday management of the projects. They often take contracts, subcontracts, and purchase orders for granted. "I leave all the legal mumbo jumbo for the lawyers." is common to hear from job staff. Is this wise and prudent? As contracts continue to expand it is ever important to have well defined scopes of work and an awareness of risk allocation. This presentation will focus on some of the known and unknown items every PM and superintendent should be aware of on the job. Indemnification, additional insured, and liquidated damages are just some of the items we will review. This presentation will be in basic construction speak and not legalese.
Target Audience – Frontline project managers or superintendents with 0-10 years of experience – this is not intended to be an in-depth legal seminar for lawyers or company executives.
