3rd Annual Chicagoland Safety STAND DOWN Scheduled for June 3rd

Our area’s third annual construction industry Safety Stand Down will be held on Wednesday, June 3, 2015. This is a leadership opportunity for your firm to demonstrate its commitment to safety and the well-being of your workforce.

Companies that STAND DOWN for SAFETY during this event know the value of safety training and comprehensive jobsite inspection, and voluntarily cease work for approximately thirty minutes to provide focused training on a particular topic. This meeting provides effective communication of safety policies, goals and expectations through all levels of your team, and improves employee morale. The last two Chicagoland Safety Stand Downs have focused on Fall Protection; the June 3rd Stand Down will center on the importance of Planning for Safety. Research shows that projects employing pre-task planning throughout the entire construction process realize better safety ratings. Using pre-task planning brings the entire crew into the decision-making process that directly impacts their own safety performances...thereby making the jobsite a much safer place.

It is easy to participate in this year’s Builders Association Safety Stand Down. You may Stand Down at one or all of your jobsites- the choice is yours. You may choose to Stand Down during a mid-morning break or over lunch...again, it is your call. Easy-to-follow educational materials and pre-event checklists will be furnished to participating companies prior to the June 3rd event.  Hardhat stickers will also be provided for you to distribute to your employees indicating their role in the Chicagoland construction industry’s 2015 Stand Down.

If you haven't already done so, please register your firm's commitment to STAND DOWN...we will then follow up with the designated Contact for your company. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact the Association.
