Political Action Only Works With Participation

Among other efforts to improve our political action, the Builders Association recently joined other Illinois construction organizations as a member of Illinois Construction Industry Committee ( ICIC ). ICIC, led by Kim Robinson and lobbyists Jim McPike and Jack Dorgan, tracks legislation and works with us to develop a strategic response to both positive and unfavorable legislation.When appropriate we will solicit our members' support with phone calls, e-mails and letters to legislators. They DO take notice when they receive significant correspondence, and our participation is an important part of success in political action.

It is critical for the Builders Association to have an active Government Relations Committee. Steve Olson of W.B. Olson Inc., is current Chair, and with the Board of Directors, seeks to expand the Committee to increase our PAC programs. This will improve our recognition with our legislators and allow for better results.
