James McHugh Construction Announces Senior Management Promotions

James McHugh Construction Co. is proud to announce the promotion of four members of its senior project management team to Vice President.

Dave Bartolai has served as the Preconstruction Manager at McHugh Construction since 2015. As Vice President of Preconstruction, Dave will oversee the team responsible for all preconstruction activities including estimating and bidding, constructability reviews and value engineering. Internally he will lead the development of preconstruction processes that ensure consistency throughout the company; externally he will continue to engage with the architects, engineers, designers, property owners and subcontractors to provide the best value and bring the highest level of service to McHugh’s partners.

Carlos del Val Cura, a 30-year industry veteran, previously served as Senior Project Manager. He began his career with McHugh more than 20 years ago in the company’s Moscow office; since then, he’s lead some of McHugh's most technically challenging, complex and recognizable projects, both in Chicago and abroad. As Vice President, del Val Cura will play an integral role in nearly every aspect of construction management for the firm’s infrastructure and civil projects, from supervising the on-site project management teams to managing project finances and business development efforts.

Tom Stuit, an 18-year McHugh veteran and former Senior Project Manager, has been instrumental in supporting and growing the company's institutional portfolio. As Vice President, Stuit will oversee several aspects of construction operations from recruiting and planning through project execution. Stuit specializes in building and strengthening client and partner relationships and mentoring and guiding project management teams, and he is continuously exploring ways to innovate on behalf of the company and its clients.

Andy Totten, a licensed architect with more than 25 years' experience in the architecture, engineering and construction field, has been with McHugh since 1996. As Vice President, Totten will continue to oversee the day-to-day project operations on a wide range of commercial and special use construction projects for McHugh. He will be responsible for recruiting, contract writing and ensuring the financial well-being of the various projects under his supervision.
