The CLC was created to provide a forum for young construction industry professionals to discuss pertinent issues and build relationships with other industry professionals; to become involved in the Association and AGC of America; to facilitate professional development among CLC members resulting in an enhanced construction workforce throughout the Chicagoland area; and to involve and develop future industry leaders.
Member company representatives interested in becoming active on the first Steering Committee met last month to map out the CLC's short- and long-term goals. Nora Degnan of Thorne Associates and Russ Pande of Pepper Construction were chosen as Co-Chairs. Rounding out the Steering Committee are Tim Lamson of Clark Construction; Matt Minor of Ceco Concrete Construction; and Mike Pohl of DSP Insurance Services. The Steering Committee will meet again in August to determine the content for the next CLC program tentatively scheduled for late afternoon on October 29. If your company's young professionals have not yet registered their contact information with the Builders Association to be involved in the CLC, please do so now. Information will be available in the near future regarding this next event.
In the meantime, the CLC Co-Chairs and BA staff plan to attend the AGC of America's CLC Conference in September in Pittsburgh to gain additional insight and network with other regions' established CLCs.
