BOMA International Creates New Recognition for Outstanding Members

Print Print this Article | Send to Colleague

Is there a BOMA/NY member who stands out in your mind for his or her experience, drive, commitment and contribution to our profession? If so, they could be recognized across the BOMA International community as one of the BOMA Fellows, and nominations are now open.

The BOMA Fellows program was created to honor those with exemplary and sustained contributions to our business, the community, and BOMA at all levels. Nominees must have been members of BOMA for a minimum of 10 years and be able to demonstrate achievements in education, industry and business, BOMA leadership activities. They must also have performed community service worthy of BOMA recognition.

But being a fellow is more than an honor, it is also a call to service. Fellows, who may use BOMA Fellow after their name, will be called upon to give back, through teaching, writing articles, mentoring new members or other professionals, identifying future BOMA leaders, serving as resources for identifying future trends, and more.

The first class of Fellows will be honored at the 2012 BOMA International Annual Conference next June in Seattle. Only BOMA members or associations can submit a nomination, and only have to submit the nominee’s contact information at www.boma.org/getinvolved/bomafellows. You'll also find more details there on nominating criteria. Nominations must be filed no later than January 15, 2012 and self-nomination is not permitted.
