Late this past summer BOMA/NY was officially named a New York City Office of Emergency Management "Partner in Preparedness." Congratulations to all, especially our hard-working Preparedness Committee.

As you know, I have visited with BOMA a number of times and have very high regard for the organization, and for the level of concern that you have for private sector preparedness. Thus, I would like to thank you for sharing the information about our Partners in Preparedness program with your BOMA New York members. I am hoping that many other partners will follow your example.

Our relationship with the private sector plays an important role in everything that we do at OEM and we are especially proud of our partnership with BOMA. From the monthly Preparedness Committee meetings (with Sylvester Giustino and Lou Trimboli), to the subject matter expertise that BOMA provides within the Private Sector ESF in the Emergency Operations Center (EOC) during an emergency event - it is clear that BOMA takes the preparedness and resiliency of its member buildings and their tenants seriously.
