Terence "Terry" M. Whalen,
known to many of us for his early years with Cushman & Wakefield, Inc., and
the last 25-plus years, which he spent with Forest City Ratner Companies, passed
away on Nov. 2 after an extended illness. At Forest City,
Terry oversaw a 10 million-sf portfolio and played a crucial role in the
renaissance of downtown Brooklyn, using his facilities management skills.
Throughout his career he
was honored numerous times, including as the George M. Brooker Management
Executive of the Year Award in 2002 and the Real Estate Board of New York
Edward A. Riguardi Commercial Management Executive of the Year Award in 2011.
