Do you want a comprehensive overview of new CRE technology, products and services, but don’t have the time? BOMA/NY has made it easy for you.

Or do you want to arm yourself with the knowledge and tools to manage the latest industry trends? Again, BOMA/NY has made it easy for you.

Whether you’ll gain that knowledge from an interactive seminar or by speaking directly with the expert providing the service or product you’re considering, you can do it all at the new BOMA/NY Pavilion on May 24-25 at the BUILDINGSNY 2016 Show. Take advantage of this advance notice and block out your time now—it’s the only place you’ll learn so much, in such a short amount of time, in so few square feet!

Built For You

That’s because the BOMA/NY Pavilion was created exclusively to meet your needs—all of the exhibitors featuring CRE technology, products and services will be at the Pavilion for ease of access. That close proximity is also an advantage to consulting or professional firms who ordinarily might not exhibit. Consider partnering with an exhibitor with whom you work regularly, co-display and reach your clients as a "one stop shop" resource.

Adjacent to the BOMA/NY Pavilion will be the BOMA/NY Lounge, providing food, refreshments, and a place to catch up with the office or spend a few minutes with colleagues.

Content on the Cutting Edge

It wouldn’t be BOMA/NY if timely, high-content seminars were not provided. As developed by your colleagues, these seminars will run about an hour each and take place Wednesday, May 25.

8:45-9:45 AM Survive, Communicate, Assist: A Building Staff’s Mantra During an Active Shooter Incident

This seminar takes Active Shooter training to the next level, and uses interactive and scenario-based training to help your team prepare for potential active shooter incidents, learn how to recognize potential violence in the workplace, manage the consequences of an active shooter, and much more.

Moderator: Walter F. Ulmer, III, President of Remlu, Inc.

10:30 AM-NOON
Building Information Modeling (BIM) and Virtual Design Construction (VDC)

In the near future, BIM/VDC technology is projected to have a major impact on how building teams handle design, construction, and even operate their buildings, with advantages that go right to the bottom line. You’ll learn more about this approach through this interactive seminar featuring:

• Scott Lampmann and Vincent Frasca, Elite CAD Design on the system’s use, application and design advantages.

The owner and manager perspectives, including how timely completion affects leasing, maximizing the use of mechanical space to possibly increase rentable SF, and more

Dan Donnelly of Donnelly Mechanical on the contracting dimension, including how precision drawings and off-site fabrication can reduce change orders and field modifications, which is growing in importance with the popularity of "Open Shop" contracts

Moderator: Tom Krol, LEED AP, Vice President, Donnelly Mechanical

1:30-3:30 PM
Legionella and Your Cooling Tower: How to Comply with City and State Laws

Experts from the NYC Department of Health and Mental Hygiene will discuss two key regulations involving Legionnaire’s Disease and its impact on the building community: Local Law 77 of 2015, which was signed into law last August after last summer’s outbreak, and ASHRAE Standard 188-2015, Legionellosis: Risk Management for Building Water Systems.

Speakers: Dr. Dan Kass, Deputy Commissioner for Environmental Health and Trevor McProud, both of the NYC Department of Health and Mental Hygiene
