Everyone involved in portfolio-wide energy management will
want to be at the BOMA International Convention in Washington DC on the
afternoon of Monday, June 27, to hear the details of how the BOMA
HP (High Performance) "Connect" program works and the results it is now
achieving.
The seminar, entitled Connecting
Commercial Real Estate and Utilities: Achieving Energy Savings in Commercial
Buildings runs that Monday from 2:15 to 3:15 pm, and will feature BOMA/NY’s own Eric
Duchon, Chair of the Energy & Sustainability Committee.
Eric will be speaking in his role as Director,
Sustainability Strategies at Cushman & Wakefield, Inc., which collaborated
with Waypoint Building Group and the Pacific Gas & Electric Utility company
to undertake the "Connect" program.
According to BOMA International, the program was created and
launched in 2013 to overcome the hurdles "with traditional energy efficiency
program and market engagement practices that are often implemented without the
analysis of key data for owners and tenants." Its goal is to "help drive great
uptake of efficiency improvements by combining building and energy data to
develop the best business case" for such improvements. The program provides
targeted support, the portfolio approach also facilitates collaboration among
decision-makers, and project recommendations are tied to such key milestones as
capital budget deadlines and tenant space fit-outs.
Seminar attendees will:
• Discover how to address and overcome the
split-incentive barrier.
• Establish the best way to improve energy
conservation measure adoption rates in commercial buildings.
• Learn how to work with utilities to optimize
building efficiency across a portfolio.
• Determine how to create a durable pipeline of
future energy projects.
To make sure you gain all the insight you can from this
seminar and the more than 40 other learning opportunities, workshops and
seminars offered at the Conference, make sure you register today at http://www.bomaconvention.org/boma2016/public/enter.aspx. |
