What You Need to Know About the New Elevator Inspections Regulations

Implementation of the city elevator inspections that went into effect last year is not progressing as smoothly as all involved had hoped.
To help you gain a clearer understanding of what is entailed, including the witnessing process and how to avoid roadblocks or penalties, your colleagues at BOMA/NY’s Professional Development Committee have assembled a team of elevator experts for our Jan. 12th seminar: The New Elevator Inspection Requirements and How They Affect Property Managers.
According to RFR Realty’s Morris Wiesenberg, RPA, who chairs the Professional Development Committee and is coordinating content along with newly-elected BOMA/NY Secretary Ronald Zeccardi of Cogswell Realty, LLC, the seminar will clearly delineate what is required of elevator contractors, witnessing agents and property managers/owners. Given the possibility that buildings can receive violations even after conducting the required tests, the BOMA/NY seminar team will also prepare you to recognize potential pitfalls and undertake ameliorative actions.
At press time, our seminar panel includes senior professionals from Schindler Elevator Corporation, consultants vda (Van Deusen & Associates) and DTM Elevator and contractor Transel Elevator, Inc.
