From Sept. 23 through Oct. 4 the opening session of the UN General Assembly will compromise traffic throughout the city. Listed here are the primary restrictions or obstacles affecting the BOMA/NY community.

STREET CLOSURES AND/OR RESTRICTIONS 
These areas are subject to periodic freezes for all pedestrian and vehicular traffic. 

1st Avenue from 34th Street to 49th Street 

42nd, 44th, 45th, 46th and 47th Streets from 1st Avenue to 2nd Avenue and Tudor City Place (These areas are restricted to residents, delegates and authorized persons with business on the block.) 

The eastern parking lane of 2nd Avenue from 42nd Street to 57th Street (This area will be blocked by emergency cones and is restricted to law enforcement and emergency personnel only.) 

 The steps connecting Tudor City to 1st Avenue at 43rd Street will be closed. 

In addition, these checkpoints for pedestrian foot traffic should be noted:

42nd Street at 2nd Avenue 

44th Street at 2nd Avenue
 
45th Street at 2nd Avenue
 
46th Street at 2nd Avenue 

 47th Street at 2nd Avenue
