On Thursday, February 23, 2017, BOMA/NY hosted New York City Real Estate’s biggest night of the year, The Pinnacle Awards. This year The Pinnacle Awards were held at Chelsea Piers and honored top commercial real estate professionals. At the event, 17 nominees competed for 10 awards and one of the newest awards, the "pinnacle of all pinnacles," The Grand Pinnacle Award.

This year, BOMA/NY Pinnacle Awards added two new award categories. These categories are Mixed-Use and Public Assembly Buildings. To qualify for a mixed-use category, all properties will have a minimum of 10 percent Office in a planned integration of at least three components that are a mix of Retail, Entertainment, Residential, Hotel, Recreation or Other Functions. Each component will be a minimum of 10 percent of the total property. Though, the property can be one or more buildings managed by the same company. The Public Assembly Buildings category must be publicly accessible and support multiple uses. The multiple uses of these buildings may influence the buildings utility use, opening hours, and tenant or occupant relations. These buildings may be a part of a larger portfolio. Buildings included in this category include: stand-alone arenas, amphitheaters, auditoriums, art galleries, churches, hotels, convention centers, exhibit halls, courthouses, stadiums, university buildings and other buildings that are publicly accessible.

This is BOMA/NY’s second year in presenting The Grand Pinnacle Award, it captures the competitive spirit of the Pinnacle Awards and the standards they set for operational excellence. The Grand Pinnacle is awarded to the building achieving the highest overall score. Each winner from the individual buildings categories is eligible for this award. This year, the 2017 BOMA/NY Grand Pinnacle Awards recipient was 810 Seventh Avenue! Congratulations 810 Seventh Avenue on your Grand Pinnacle Award and winning Operating Office Building 500,000-1,000,000 Square Feet!
