Dear Members:
Spring is in the air. For BOMA New York members, that means transitioning buildings for the warmer months, as well as preparing for our members-only rooftop Spring Soiree at 230 Fifth Avenue.
From an event perspective, we have a lot to be excited about at BOMA New York. In a couple of weeks, Energy Action Day will be keynoted by New York State Senator Kevin S. Parker. I look forward to seeing you at this signature in-person event on April 26th at Club 101.
The Golf Classic at Edgewood Country Club is sold out, but there is still room for dinner, as well as a few sponsorship opportunities. The upcoming Proptech Seminar & Expo continues to attract thought leaders and innovators from the world of workflow management, data integration, tenant apps, and digital security.
The focus on energy conservation and proptech solutions will inevitably benefit both the real estate ecosystem, as well as the natural environment. I am proud to report about our participation in BOMA International’s Decarbonization Symposium in March. We joined many national and global thought leaders in Washington DC to discuss how the commercial real estate industry can continue to make strides towards the goal of net-zero. The conversation included the importance of sustainability throughout the design process, best practices of green leases, and the value of collecting and utilizing building data.
Before we know it, we will be in the thick of the Summer and thinking about the Pinnacle Awards Dinner. I am excited to once again celebrate excellence in both buildings and building professionals. We will honor many industry peers in September, as well as applaud the newest award nomination category, Fire Life Safety Professional. As you enjoy the Spring weather, please be sure to submit your nominee for both outstanding buildings and property professionals.
Sincerely,
Matt Duthie
