Current Slate of Officers Elected for Second Term; Broadens Reach with New Board Members

In fulfillment of a major platform plank of our current administration, headed by President Louis J. Mantia (left), BOMA/NY’s recently-completed election brings a number of next-generation leaders to our Board of Directors, while returning the current seasoned officers back to their respective positions for another year.

Mantia and his officer team’s "youth movement" plank has emphasized bringing in new blood to our organization at all levels, including options for student membership and as the election demonstrated, at the Board of Director level.

In addition, Mantia said, the Association has expanded its outreach commitment and is now actively supporting recruitment of our returning veterans from Iraq, Afghanistan and other tours of duty. "Their technical skills, leadership training and discipline are well-suited for a career in property management—a career we can assure them will keep them close to home," says Mantia, adding that "our industry is one that is relatively well insulated from out-sourcing. But even should that occur, we are advocating offering veterans employment. BOMA/NY is also committed to providing veterans with the most advanced education available in our field."

Continuing for another year are Louis J. Mantia (Cushman & Wakefield, Inc.) as President; Thomas L. Hill, RPA (Boston Properties) as Vice President; James R. Kleeman, RPA (Port Authority of NY & NJ) as Treasurer and Ronald S. Zeccardi (The Moinian Group) as Secretary.

Joining the Board of Directors for 3-year terms beginning Jan. 1, 2013 and ending Dec. 31, 2015 are: Patrick J. Dolan, SJP Properties; Kevin T. Hoey, Cassidy Turley New York, Inc.; Mark S. Landstrom, RPA, Piedmont Office Realty Trust; Javier Lezamiz, CPM, Hidrock Realty, Inc.; Geraldine M. Szabo, LEED AP, JP Morgan Chase & Co.; and Nicholas J. Turkovic, Vornado Realty Trust.

Join us in congratulating all of these industry professionals on their new leadership positions.
