TOBY Triumphs for Two New York Towers
BOMA/NY’s Pinnacle representatives batted 1000 in this year’s Middle Atlantic Conference TOBY Award competition with its two entries—
461 Fifth Avenue and
1515 Broadway—winning in their categories. 461 Fifth won the
Operating Office Building category for buildings from 100,000 to 249,999 sf—the first ever win in this category for New York—and 1515 Broadway extended New York’s winning streak in the
Corporate Facility category to three years in a row.
Both buildings, which are owned and managed by SL Green Realty Corp., received their awards on March 22 at the BOMA MAC Conference in Baltimore. 1515 Broadway's management team is lead by
Kevin Reade, RPA as Property Manager (right), and
Mia Pali, Assistant Property Manager. 461 Fifth Avenue is managed by
John Flaherty, SMA/SMT (above), who is also the first New York manager to win in two different categories in the last ten years. In 2009 he took 100 Park Avenue all the way to a TOBY International win in the Renovated Building category.
"We are always proud of our Pinnacle winners when they move forward to compete in the Regional TOBYs, where they go head-to-head with outstanding properties from Boston to Washington, DC. But this year we take particular pride in maintaining our dominance in the Corporate Facility category, and winning for the first time ever in the Operating Office Building category of buildings from 100,000 to 249,999 square feet ", said BOMA/NY President Louis J. Mantia.
Since 2000, BOMA/NY has won 26 Regional TOBY Awards, including six times in the Operating Office Building over 1 million square feet category, five times for Historical Building, four each in the Corporate Facility, Local Member of the Year and Government Building categories, and three times for Renovated Building.
This year’s winners will go on to compete for the ultimate TOBY at the BOMA International Annual Conference in San Diego, June 23 to 25th. Join us in wishing them well in representing New York.
