Your Playbook for Super Bowl Success

We continue to build a deep bench of expertise for our exclusive seminar on how to manage the many aspects of operations that will be affected by the Super Bowl coming to New York for the first time ever on Feb. 2, 2014.

Tom Harris, Senior Vice President of Security and Operations for the Times Square Alliance will join us to brief us on the NFL's pre-game, momentum-building events, including the multi-media conversion of Broadway between 34th and 47th Streets into "Super Bowl Boulevard."

Remember, though the Big Game will be played in the Meadowlands at MetLife Stadium, Manhattan will be the "50-yardline" of activity the week before, so it is essential that your building teams and tenants prepare for everything from traffic/transit challenges and building access issues, to tenant communications and potential incidents.

As a recap, we’ve developed New York’s only seminar for building teams - Super Bowl Preparedness: Developing Pre-Game Strategies for Building Teams. It will take place from 3 to 5 p.m. on Nov. 20 at Club 101 at 101 Park Avenue. A "tailgate" reception will follow from 5:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. and the cost, including the reception, will be $100 for members and $165 for non-members.

Content includes:

Scouting Report: Learn how Manhattan will be impacted by pre-game events, including the where and when of events, frozen zones and street closures, transportation and mass transit challenges. We’ll also discuss the type of malicious or non-malicious threats your team may face and how to mitigate them.

Building Team: Our team of experts will identify the major concerns of operations for owners, managers, building staff and tenants, as well as how events will impact building operations in various Manhattan locations. We’re also targeting how critical building processes will be affected, as well as how and what teams should communicate with tenants.

The Stadium and Fans: Hear from official sources about the resources that New York City will deploy and the type of assistance we can count on. We’ll also review BOMA/NY’s role in interacting with city agencies to bring you real time information, much like we did throughout Hurricane Sandy and other major events.

Game Plan: Get the key details on the nuts and bolts of ensuring continuous operations. Learn effective strategies from pre-game communications to incident response.

Walter F. Ulmer, III, AMBCI, will moderate the panel. Joining Tom Harris as your coaches are: Neil Spadaro, Boston Properties’ Director of Security and a former member of the NYPD; SL Green’s Pat Revellese, named Manager of the Year in 2012 by both BOMA/NY & REBNY; John Farrell, who manages critical infrastructure and planning for the World Trade Center for the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey, and was formerly with the Transit Police; Kevin Peterson, Protective Security Advisor, US Department of Homeland Security, and NYC OEM’s  Ira Tannenbaum. Invitations are being firmed up with experts from the FDNY.

Don’t be left on the sidelines—this unique seminar is available only through BOMA/NY. We anticipate a sold-out event, so if you can’t find your electronic invitation, contact Sylvester Giustino at sylvester@bomany.com or 212-239-3669 today.
