We’re Showing You the Money!!!
Don’t leave the money on the table! Funding is now available
for students pursuing the BOMI RPA, FMA, SMA and SMT designations—but only
until July 31st, when applications are due. The scholarships are generous, and
cover the value of seven BOMI courses per designation area, or up to 75% of the
cost of obtaining a designation, providing the recipient adheres to all
requirements.
BOMA/NY’s been providing scholarships for more than three
decades, and 215 students have qualified—make sure you become one this
year.
How, do you apply? Who qualifies? And how are the
scholarships awarded?
Here’s a quick overview:
- Potential recipients must be employed by a
BOMA/NY member firm, work within the five boroughs of New York City and have
passed at least one BOMI course in any designation area.
- All applicants are evaluated on their
application form information, which includes 1) a letter of recommendation from
their supervisor; 2) an essay stating their goals and why they should be
considered for a scholarship; and 3) the in-person interview, which delves into
how the candidates will use the scholarship to further their goals and career
plans.
- The scholarships also cover courses taken via
home study, semester length or the accelerated class method, as well as book, exam and
processing fees.
- Those winning a scholarship must pass each
course before taking the next, and complete the full designation within four
years of winning the scholarship.
- Recipients are determined using the 3-step
process described above, which is conducted by the BOMA/NY Scholarship
Committee led by Gail P. Duke, RPA/CPM of NY Life Investment Management, LLC.
