Kitchen staffers at Encore Community Services are cooking their daily quota of 1,000 meals a day in half the time it used to take before Tom Krol, Vice President of Business Development at Donnelly Mechanical, stepped in to spearhead a renovation that made the kitchen facilities at the Times Square-based charity far more efficient and greatly reduced an almost unmanageable workload.
Encore showed its thanks by honoring Donnelly at its annual Heart to Heart Awards Benefit. Tom, shown in the photo on the left, received the award from Ralph DiRuggiero, pictured on the right in the photo, Senior Vice President of Paramount Group, Inc. at the gala on May 14. The award acknowledges "individuals, groups and corporations who had made contributions to the betterment" of New York City, especially those in the Times Square and surrounding theater community.
Donnelly’s contribution focused on the Senior Center kitchen, which cooks and serves those 1,000 meals to senior citizens who visit the charity daily, or delivers them to those who are home-bound. The firm installed a new commercial convention oven, extended the related exhaust hood and installed an all-new fire protection system.
