Since mid-March, BOMA BC member Dawn Surette (Warrington PCI Management) and president Damian Stathonikos have been part of a national COVID-19 working group chaired by BOMA Canada. The working group brings together subject matter experts (including Susan Bazak, the author of BOMA Canada’s Pandemic Planning Guide) from across the country to plan and create timely resources.
Several free resources are available, including building checklists and webinars on cleaning best practices, legal and HR issues and, most recently, getting a building ready for re-occupancy. The webinars come with a copy of the presentation and a video time stamp, so you can see the exact times of what’s discussed on the webinar. It allows you to jump to that part of the webinar if you aren’t interested in watching the whole presentation.
Dawn and Damian have brought a West Coast perspective to the discussions, sharing on the ground experiences, feedback from BOMA BC members and insights on what’s been happening in BC compared to the rest of the country.
“I have really enjoyed being a part of the working group,” said Dawn. “The information I take away has been considerably valuable to our organization and our response to this health situation”.
All of the Working Group’s material are available on the BOMA Canada website at http://bomacanada.ca/coronavirus/. You can also find additional BC-specific resources on the BOMA BC website at https://www.boma.bc.ca/resources/coronavirus-updates/.
