Earlier this year, BOMA BC members were asked to participate in a comprehensive survey ranking their priorities among BOMA’s potential and existing service offerings.
We had 79 survey respondents, representing a 13% response rate. Forty respondents indicated they are a Real Estate Member, 36 respondents selected‘Business Member and three respondents made no selection.
The top three priorities among all membership categories were:
1) Networking luncheons with keynote speakers.
2) Presentations of new and emerging technologies specific to the commercial real estate industry.
3) Educational seminars (e.g. Earthquake Preparedness, Developing a Telecom & Technology Strategy).
Business Members' top two priorities were the same, however their third priority was Committees for BOMA members’ inclusion in developing social events.
Real Estate members' top three priorities were:
1) Municipal lobbying on permits for building retrofits and renovations.
2) Provincial lobbying on taxation issues that affect the commercial real estate industry.
3) Government lobbying on building codes that affect the commercial real estate industry.
