The survey results firmly show there is a group of BOMA members who are ready for a return to in-person events. We are excited to announce "BOMA's Great Outdoors Event" set for Thursday, July 30th. Choose between one of two staggered hikes, or a photo scavenger hunt for those who want to stay near the picnic shelter.

On June 25, 2020, a new Fire By-law provision took effect, which may impact your property. Please read Bulletin 2020-001. At this time, buildings four storeys or higher are subject to the inspections by a professional engineer. Government Affairs
BOMA made a pre-budget submission to the Select Standing Committee on Finance and Government Services for priorities they should focus on in the upcoming year. BOMA recognizes the need for new programs and initiatives to help building managers achieve climate action targets. We encouraged the province to adopt Commercial Property Assessed Clean Energy (C-PACE) and other property tax tools and incentives to help building managers make long term investments in energy reduction projects. We also asked for funding for energy training resources to directly support our members with new energy and carbon reduction regulation programs that are on the horizon.

In light of this progression, BOMA Canada is happy to announce that BOMA BEST verifications can resume at this time, though some modifications to the process may be required. Additionally, variances will likely be required when answering certain questions in the BOMA BEST assessment.
