On July 13, 2022, BOMA BC President Damian Stathonikos announced our industry’s support for BC’s new 5% Clean Building Tax Credit at a Provincial government press conference. Damian spoke alongside the Minister of Finance, Selina Robinson, the Minister of Environment and Climate Change Strategy, George Heyman, and the Mayor of Vancouver, Kennedy Stewart.
Our long-time member Martello Property Services' President, Wayne Smithies, announced his retirement early this spring. If you are familiar with Wayne, you may know of his deep roots within Vancouver's Commerical Real Estate industry. Before Wayne heads off onto his next adventure, we wanted to thank him for his years of service and contributions to the Association and community.

Natural Resources Canada (NRCAN) recently launched a Request for Proposals for its Zero Emission Vehicle Infrastructure Program (ZEVIP) - a cost-sharing program to fund the construction of electric vehicle charging and hydrogen stations.
Applications are now open until August 11, 2022 The Province of British Columbia's Training Grant provides employers with education and training funds to keep their teams competitive and ready to take on the ever-changing market.
Under the recently updated program, employers may apply for funding as often as they need and will be reimbursed 80% of training costs up to a maximum of $10,000 (per employee).
