BOMA BC is hosting BOMEX and the National BOMA Awards Gala in 2024. As a result, our 2023 Awards Program will be deferred until 2024. We look forward to your submissions!

Government Affairs
Earlier this year, the Province unveiled a new tax credit to help you improve your building’s energy efficiency - The Clean Buildings Tax Credit. This is a 5% refundable income tax credit for qualifying retrofits that improve the energy efficiency of eligible commercial buildings.
 
The Province has released additional information that clarifies how you can certify the retrofit with the Province in a two-step process and ensure you receive your tax credit amount.
 
On December 7th, 2022, newly sworn in Premier of British Columbia, David Eby, announced a new Cabinet, positioning it as a plan to take action on cost of living, health care, housing and climate.

BOMA BC is looking for your input on changes that may impact the BC Building Codes!
 
The Government of Canada is conducting two national public reviews:
 
•  National Model Codes (Building; Fire; Plumbing; and Energy);
•  Accessibility Standards Canada – A Model Standard for the Built Environment 

The public review runs until December 23, 2022.
