Today is the launch of BOMA BC’s Decarb Accelerator Program, which provides buildings with hands-on assistance for identification and reduction of GHG emissions and overall building efficiencies – and here’s the best part: ALL at no cost to the building!
BOMA wants to ensure buildings are provided with the right information and support to identify and select replacement equipment and building systems that will avoid future emissions fines and taxes that could leave your building financially constrained.
Every building participating in the program will receive a dedicated Decarb Program Manager/Engineer that will work one-on-one with your team to assess and determine what unique support or resources your property and team might need to assist in reducing your energy and carbon emissions.
This is an extraordinary opportunity for BOMA to support buildings in a meaningful and profound way through funding from the Federal Government and in partnership with the Zero Emissions Innovation Centre (ZEIC).
Visit the BOMA BC website to learn more about the program and fill out an application for your building to participate.
On May 23/24, hundreds of members and staff filled the ballroom at Fairmont Pacific Rim for the BOMA '24 Awards Gala presented by SerVantage Services Group!
We want to congratulate all of this year's award winners with a special acknowledgement to GWL Realty Advisors for their outstanding achievement in taking home 𝘀𝗶𝘅 awards across multiple categories! We are thrilled to introduce BOMA BC's 2024–2026 Strategic Plan, designed to guide our organization over the next three years!
Developed in partnership with our board and senior staff, this plan is the culmination of thorough member interviews, benchmarking research, and a comprehensive satisfaction survey.
The Strategic Plan includes five pivotal areas of focus:
1) Advocacy & Government Relations: Championing policy changes that advance the interests of the commercial real estate sector.
2) Education, Information & Resources: Providing cutting-edge resources to empower informed decision-making among our members. 3) Member Programs & Services: Delivering impactful programs and services designed to enhance value for our members. 4) Networking & Events: Creating diverse networking opportunities that foster meaningful connections within the industry. 5) New Priority: Justice, Equity, Diversity & Inclusion (JEDI): Promoting understanding and implementing initiatives to drive JEDI principles throughout our industry. Additionally, our strategic plan addresses concerns voiced by members:
• Economic Climate: Addressing challenges posed by rising interest rates and commercial property taxes.
• Impact of Rising Poverty and Crime: Tackling issues of crime, homelessness, and addiction in urban centers. • Labour and Recruitment: Focusing on strategies for recruiting, training, and retaining professionals, with an emphasis on diversity, equity, and inclusion. • Decarbonization: Supporting members in achieving building efficiency and resilience to climate change, aligned with decarbonization and ESG legislation.
