CSAE Association Agenda
CSAE News

CSAE is thrilled to be working in partnership with Wicket and Industrial to reimagine our approach to technology. Early in the new year, we’ll be rolling out a new suite of software tools to better manage, engage with, and deliver services and information to members. New tools will include Canadian-based Shopify for the bookstore, MailChimp for email marketing, Canadian-based Fusebill for membership billing, and Canadian-based Klipfolio for reporting and dashboards.

This exciting development will make CSAE’s processes more efficient and, best of all, it will provide an improved member experience! Watch for news and updates to come!

It has been a pleasure to immerse myself in CSAE! As the director of national accounts for Westmont Hospitality Group, my company owns and operates over 23 hotel and conference venues of various brands across Canada. Over the past 10 years as a member of CSAE, I have learned and developed at every opportunity.

I firmly believe that the wheel should not be reinvented — it should be shared and improved. With CSAE, this is constant: the sharing of ideas and opportunities to receive input and be heard has members continually connecting with each other. I have developed lifelong friendships by exchanging ideas, which gives me and my peers a whole new understanding of each other’s roles.

I am an eight-year summit committee veteran with CSAE Trillium, and the chair of the 2019 Trillium Winter Summit. CSAE is a family and like a family whether it is through support, advice or sharing, you will expand your knowledge and be captivated with expertise that is shared by members.

Bad hires are bad news for all organizations. Unfortunately, they can have a particularly negative impact on associations.
According to Tracy Folkes Hanson, president and CEO of CSAE, the nature of association work means the unexpected loss of an employee is often felt far beyond the staff group, “In many cases, association employees are very connected with the association’s member base. That means a greater number of people are impacted when an employee moves on unexpectedly.”
