Member Spotlight
Member since 2019 I am the executive director of the Confederation of University Faculty Associations of BC (CUFA BC), which is an association for unions that represent the interests of faculty and academics at BC’s research universities. My work focuses on the value of post-secondary education and research to the wider public, academic governance and university labour relations. I am a returning member to CSAE and have been grateful for the resources available to working professionals, especially the online discussion forum Associations Connect, governance workshops, and an impressive resource collection of books and newsletters. I recently volunteered for the annual CSAE Conference and Showcase in Vancouver and was pleased with how well organized and well attended it was. It’s a very welcoming community. Thank you for all the support. Connect with Annabree on LinkedIn and Twitter at @annaberrypie. CSAE Events

by Jean S. Frankel; Gabriel Eckert, CAE Excerpt: " There has never been a more complex time to be a leader. More information, more decisions, and more activity are universally expected outcomes. Experts say that the growth of data has now reached an unsustainable level. In the coming years, associations leaders increasingly will find themselves deep inside a sort of “information vortex”, with infinite ideas for programs, services, and strategies swirling all around them and with little control over the origin or destination of these ideas”. Humphrey Excerpt: ”Whether you are now chair of your not-for-profit board, in line for the job, or are considering letting your name stand for the job at some point in the future, this publication was developed to help you make the most of your tenure at the helm when that time comes. Many publications have been written to help board members understand and discharge their responsibilities, but far fewer have been written specifically for the chair. This publication seeks to fill that void.” Questions? Contact nicolas@csae.com. |
