CSAE Association Agenda
CSAE News

It's National Volunteer Week and CSAE is incredibly grateful to have many dedicated and talented volunteers across the country. From our Board, to network councils, to working groups and beyond, volunteers contribute in so many ways to help CSAE soar! Our employee team has a special message for our extraordinary volunteers:  https://youtu.be/eEvafxstDKM

On April 21st, the association and not-for-profit sector came together to honour CSAE award nominees, recipients -- and all of our incredible volunteers who make CSAE soar. What better way to celebrate National Volunteer Week than by applauding CSAE’s champions? Thank you to all who joined in the celebrations. It was a day of fun, connection and inspiration. Congratulations to all of the award nominees and recipients!

Each and every one of you makes CSAE and the association sector proud!

Dozens of associations stepped up to support CSAE’s pre-budget advocacy efforts, pressing the federal government to extend the Canada Emergency Wage Subsidy (CEWS). Thank you for advocating on behalf of our sector. The budget unveiled by Minister of Finance Chrystia Freeland on April 19th proposes to extend the CEWS until Sept. 25, 2021. It also proposes to gradually decrease the subsidy rate, beginning July 4, 2021, to ensure an orderly phase-out of the program as vaccinations are completed and the economy reopens.

Member Spotlight

I've been a CSAE Business Member for 30 years. Working with the association market has given me valuable insights into the not-for-profit world. I was very involved with the Toronto/Trillium network, sitting on a number of committees through the years including sponsorship, holiday events, awards dinners and summits. In 1995 and 2005, I was honoured with the Member of the Year award from the Trillium network, and in 2005 received the Griner Award. In 2014, I was the recipient of the President's Award for the Trillium network, and am still humbled by the experience of being selected for this very prestigious award. I am grateful to have belonged to CSAE for so many years and look forward to many more.
