Member Spotlight

You may have seen me around many CSAE events. I have been a member for 15 years, which makes me either seasoned, or old, or both! I am the CEO of the Canadian Society for Medical Laboratory Science (CSMLS) in Hamilton. I joined at the suggestion of my mentor, himself a CAE and frequent flyer to CSAE events. I was brought in by an experienced CAE, who mentored and supported me to my CAE. I now have hundreds of connections, which makes doing my job much easier. I have respected colleagues to lean on—borrowing best practices, sharing pitfalls of decisions and how best to innovate for our members. I have had the pleasure of working on the new competency profile for CAEs, the Prior Learning Assessment program, and chaired the Continuing Competency Committee. Every volunteer experience is rewarding! CSAE is a place to find your people. Connect with me on LinkedIn.
