contributing to workshops, council meetings, and other events throughout the nearly twenty years of affiliation. This year, Keith Houck, Vice President of Operations and Finance at Valencia College and member of the CCBO Board of Directors, has organized a panel of community college presidents to present with CCBO on how presidents work with the business officers on their campuses. The panel will both engage the audience and begin productive discussion of the significant role that business officers perform and the relationship they have with college operations.
The panel, titled "Faster Than a Speeding Bullet – Getting the Most from Your Business Officer," will feature Dr. Toni Pendergrass, President of San Juan College; Dr. Maureen Murphy, President of Brookdale Community College; and Dr. James Henningsen, President of the College of Central Florida. Mr. Houck will serve as the moderator of the session on Monday, April 7.
CCBO will also gain valuable exposure in the exhibit hall at the AACC convention. Attendees will learn about the value of a CCBO membership, our unique Leadership Academy designed specifically for community college business officers, the numerous educational opportunities at the 2014 Annual International Conference in San Antonio, and much more about the organization.
Creating relationships and building connections are important components of professional organizations, and maintaining partnerships with higher education associations such as the AACC will allow CCBO to continue in its status as a premier association for community college business officers.
