CCBO Announces 2014 Leadership Academy Graduates

Charlottesville, VA (October 17, 2014) – CCBO, the premier community college association serving current and future business officers, is pleased to announce that 10 community college professionals have graduated from the CCBO Leadership Academy.
"The 2014 CCBO Leadership Academy graduates were energetic and engaged with the presenters," said CCBO Leadership Academy Dean Dr. Ron Rhames. "The sessions will help Academy members prepare for the next level of their careers in community colleges."
The new Leadership Academy graduates are:
- K. Paige Childs, vice president of business and finance at Piedmont Technical College.
- Jill Cox, college director for finance at Ozarks Technical Community College.
- Darryl Cummings, manager of materials, inventory & logistics at Midlands Technical College.
- Wendy Hughes, accounting manager at Piedmont Technical College.
- Karen King, controller at San Juan College.
- Steve Miller, assistant controller at San Juan College.
- Beth Nunley, director of financial affairs at Kankakee Community College.
- Jennifer Porter, director of financial services at Rock Valley College.
- Carl Quin, internal auditor at Midlands Technical College.
- Bruce Riveland, vice president for administrative services at Olympic College.
The CCBO Leadership Academy is a one-year educational program created for current and aspiring community college business officers. It features nearly 35 hours of programming in topics such as leadership skills, budgeting, auxiliary services, risk management, human resources, endowment management, and other relevant topics. Also included in the program is registration at two CCBO Annual International Conferences, a mid-year project, and a yearlong mentorship with past and present CCBO leadership.
