First Fridays at CCBO is finally here!
In many communities across the country, the "First Fridays" concept has been launched as a time to invite participation in social and small business events.
CCBO is starting the First Fridays professional development series to bring a similar type of energy and community building to support you and your institutions.
2014 is the year that we move forward as an association. The formation of committees within CCBO has been designed to take full advantage of the professional skills and expertise of our volunteers. We need more great concepts like First Fridays to help us engage with each other and invite others to share their knowledge. We need to find new opportunities for our business partners to share their business solutions, and to also learn with us as community colleges seek to discover new sources of revenue and services to support their campus missions.
I am excited as CCBO moves toward the 2014 Annual International Conference in San Antonio. The plans and the outreach efforts will engage us all in the valuable experience of learning face to face, and it will bring together a rich diversity of educational programs and speakers.
CCBO will be on the road in 2014, exhibiting and presenting a program in April at the AACC Annual Convention in Washington, D.C. and exhibiting at the Texas Association of Community College Business Officers annual meeting in June.
In my almost two short years as Executive Director of CCBO, I place a very high value on our volunteer leaders and members who understand the value of partnership, and who are committed to the growth of community colleges. I will continue to find ways to highlight the membership benefits of CCBO as I travel this year.
I hope that this inaugural First Fridays event is the start of many more great Fridays hosted by CCBO.
