Executive Director's View

Since its founding in 1983, CCBO has been the premier association for community college business officers. It is with this history in mind that I proudly journeyed more than 2,800 miles from Berkley, California to Charlottesville, Virginia. As I step into my new role of CCBO Executive Director I am proud to bring my passion for the business of higher education to the Association. My 15 years of higher education and association management experience have taught me that collaboration, forethought, and dedication are integral to the success of an association and its members.

I have already seen how the CCBO leadership base shares my same vision for association success. The Association is built on the hard work of industry leaders who generously donate their time to volunteer. The result is a rich history of serving the unique needs of community college business officers.

The volunteer dedication within CCBO has resulted in a very exciting year, a year in which a new mission statement was adopted and a rebranding process was completed. This year we will look to build on that foundation to serve business officer needs in an ever changing environment. An overarching theme for the year will be institutional sustainability. This will be reflected in our online education, publications, and annual conference education. CCBO will help our community colleges as they continue to provide for and promote student success through a stable and supportive administration. This will be a great year for CCBO as we continue to grow and support higher education through our business officers.

As we plan for the coming years, we will continue to strategically look to the future and focus heavily on providing the resources needed for our membership base to succeed. We will partner with other associations and businesses, plan for a sustainable future, and always look to our mission statement for inspiration. These three key focus areas will allow CCBO to continue to assert itself as the premier association for community college business officers.
